Tarantula region with the new FSQ-85ED set up

A colourful SHO and a not too shabby LRGB with slight NB enhancement. The data was captured from the inner suburbs of Brisbane so I wasn't expecting much from the RGB!

Tech details:

Scope: FSQ-85ED 0.73x reducer = 325mm FL
Mount: AP900
Camera: ZWO ASI1600mm Pro (gain 200, temp -15C)
Filters: Chroma LRGB, 3nm NB
Image scale: 2.36 arcsec/pixel
Exposures: 143x30s R, 139x30s G, 128x30s B, 238x120s Ha, 93x120s Oiii, 73x120s Sii (16.9 hours)
Processing: PixInsight 1.8.6

Bigger versions on Astrobin:
https://www.astrobin.com/384132/0/
https://www.astrobin.com/383279/0/

I'll probably try a HOO over the weekend if I get the chance.

Cheers,
Rick.

Amazingly tentacular NB. Looks a bit like my front yard! Like the blue ‘offset’ by the red band :-) Encourgaing with the RGB and star colour too. Awesome

Beautiful image Rick, so much going on it's hard to know where to start.

Well done dodging the clouds

Ta, Geoff. Took a few nights to get the data!

Thanks, Mikey. I'm a big fan of the wacky palette. I have a script for it

Thanks, Chris! I have a good range of short focal lengths covered now from 21mm upwards.

Really nice field Rick

My only gripe is field correction! I thought the FSQ85 would have better field correction over the small M43 sensor.

Ta, Colin. My suspicion is that the spacing isn't quite perfect and there's a bit of tilt in the camera. My next step will probably be to try the STL-11K on it.

Don't suppose we could persuade you to do a mosaic of the whole cloud at that amazing level of NB depth? it would make a definitive tri-channel atlas.

Love it Rick. The colour spread is amazing and very captivating.
Chroma filters, I haven't heard of them before. They seem to be doing the job well.

I'd love to do that M&T but with our summer weather it's probably a long term goal.

Thanks, Greg. So far I'm very happy with the Chroma filters.

Ouch! ... that SHO version gave me two black eyes! The LRGB version soothed the pain though!

Two impressive images nonetheless - nice work!
