EDIT 31/10/2018:
Since originally posting this ad an issue has become apparent. In-focus stars display a spike to the top while out-of-focus stars are flattened at the bottom on one side of focus. Initially I suspected a thermal issue or collimation but it now seems that the primary baffle may be cutting into the light path.
I started a thread on Cloudy Nights which can be found here: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/6...-this-thermal/
The photos I posted on CN are now attached to this ad.
I'm not skilled enough to take the scope apart and fix it so I'm offering it at a reduced price of $300. Hopefully someone will be able to restore it to working order.
Other than the above issue the scope is in reasonable condition for its age. It has some cosmetic scratches on the tube as shown in the photos.
Aperture is 127mm
Focal length is 1270mm (f/10)
Rear cell is standard SCT thread.
Included in the package are:
- OTA with carry handle, two attachments for a finder and end caps
- carry case
- 50mm straight-through finderscope with rings
- red dot finder
- 2" diagonal with 1.25" adapter
All items except the RDF are the originals that came with the scope. The diagonal is not as reflective as it once was so a modern 99% dielectric will improve deep sky performance. It is still fully functional, however.
Also, some of the screws in the finder bracket have seen better days. They are still functional but replacing them would make aligning the finderscope easier.
Am prepared to ship but will have to work out the cost depending on destination.
Price reduced to $300
