Processing a 150 megapixel mosaic is really painful

I spent half the night just waiting for a light denoise to complete Tempted to resample but the detail is quite nice even at 1:1.

It sure is! I have done a few 80/100 megapixel ones and it drives you up the wall. I always try and edit a small version first to figure out what I need to do, and then apply that to the big. Not sure if you can do that somehow.

See ya in the morning

Yeah, I'm doing a lot of testing on small previews and then reading a book while I do the full processing run. I guess when you have 100 hours of data it deserves some respect

Itty bit attached, Simon It's the Veil in Ha/OIII bi-colour with RGB stars. At this rate it will be a couple of weeks more processing.

Thanks Rick, I was only stirring, but good to see the sneak peek! Sounds an epic job, should be poster worthy

Yes, I hope it's worth all the effort, Simon The panels weren't well planned so there was only a sliver of overlap in places. Just stitching it all together was very time consuming. Still, lessons learned and some new processing techniques tried out...

Ta, Mike. It's coming along nicely. Also working on another 3x3 mosaic but that's been held up by bad weather in California.

Cheers,
Rick.
