A neglected galaxy
NGC7713 was on one of the lists with which my UK colleague periodically supplies me. It's a galaxy in Sculptor that is almost never imaged.
This image is nothing to write home about. Major technical problems caused me to crop away much of the field and I think my dreaded focus motor problem intervened at some point too. Anyway here it is for what it's worth.
Cheers
Steve

Love it, esp with all the surrounding galaxies.

Very nice image, especially given that it is quite a small area. Densely awash with little tiny background galaxies showing detailed form. The main galaxy is interesting and unusual with its flocculent rather than spiral structure. Another one for the to-do list.

Thanks Rick. Hopefully that's not too far away.

Thanks. The structure is not unlike the nearby NGC7793

Thanks Ross. You guys are being very kind about this image. It must be better than I think it is.

Not bad at all Steve given the problems you had. One I haven't seen before either.
Looks like you might have had some guiding problems (small blip at 12 o'clock on stars)??
Cheers, Marcus

Thanks Marcus. Yep - guiding, focus, I'm copping all the problems at the moment

Thanks Rolf. I don't know if you've ever been in touch with a guy named Sakib Rasool but he's the one that comes up with these little known objects.

Cheers Steve, yes I certainly have - he seems to be able to supply endless quantities of obscure and interesting objects.
