TS APO Triplet 102mm F7 (further price drop)

Hello All,

Willing to sell my Teleskop Express 102mm f7 triplet.

It has FPL53 corrected glass and offers suburb colour correction across the full field.

More details available on technical side of the scope available here.

http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/...iebauszug.html

This scope is being offered with the full moonlite package of focuser, stepper motor and hi res mini controller v2 for pc or manual control. The focuser is a screw end design for direct thread connection to an imaging rig.
The thread is M68x1 design for direct connection with a field flattener.

I do have the original focuser still and would consider offers to split the system if both elements can be sold.

The moonlite setup alone is worth over $900 (SOLD)
The scope alone cost me around $3000 3 years ago but can now be got new for $2400.
Total cost today would be $3300

After checking around at comparable pricing i feel $2400 is a fair price for the entire system, although i am willing to hear offers for components if that is the case (comes with a hard carry case as well).

Any purchaser outside Brisbane/Gold Coast area to pay shipping.

Kind Regards,
Grady

In response to some questions regarding the scope.

The Focuser is a 2.5inch model with a M68x1 Zeiss level female thread. I do have a straight through (not angled) eyepiece holder in both 2inch and 1.25 inch that can be screwed into the focuser.

If I can find buyers for these items split up would be looking for

$1800 for the scope with its original 3inch crayford focuser and

$600 for the moonlite setup. SOLD

Hello Everyone,

New photo of scope with the stock 3 inch crayford focuser attached.

Also price drop to $1700 and i am willing to split shipping costs.

That's $1700 for a APO triplet that sells new for $2400 in this configuration.

Regards

Grady

Hey Grady, I'm new to this site and triplet telescopes, so just a few questions (long winded, my apologies)if you wouldn't mind answering.
-why are you selling?
-double checking does it come with 3inch Crawford or 2.5inch rack and pinion focuser?
-condition of scope and lenses i.e. have you in the past had to collimate the lenses or do the lenses require collimation now?
-and lastly, after reading many varied reports about cool down times. How long does it take for your scope to cool down, being you live in Brisbane? I would like to use it as a grab and go system Thanks

Mick

Hello Mick,

I hope these answer your questions.

why are you selling?

I have upgraded to a larger scope for imaging. I need the funds from this scope to help pay off the larger scope. If i didn't have to I would be holding on to this scope.

-double checking does it come with 3inch Crawford or 2.5inch rack and pinion focuser?

This scope comes with a 3inch Crawford focuser. The present model on TS express website has a new focuser (the 2.5 inch rack and pinion)

-condition of scope and lenses i.e. have you in the past had to collimate the lenses or do the lenses require collimation now?

The lenses are in what i would consider perfect condition with maybe a little dust that has settled on the lens since i last cleaned. As for the condition of the rest of the scope there are no marks on the tube (besides some sticky pads/hooks for cables) and a small mark on the lens cap.

-and lastly, after reading many varied reports about cool down times. How long does it take for your scope to cool down, being you live in Brisbane?

I have never really worried about cool down on this scope. If i had to guess i would say 10-15 mins. I know the lens plate is meant to be temperature compensating metal (or so i have been told) so focus holds pretty well all night. In terms of tube thermals again the small size of the scope works in its favour. Being aluminium is cools much faster then a carbon fiber tube and i have never noticed any issues with tube thermals here on the gold coast.

Hope this helps let me know if your have any further questions.
