IC4628 - Scorpio

This is an auto-guider with built-in dithering test shot. 45 mins of 3 min subs iso800 Canon 450D.

Processed in Asterism and StarTools. Slight touch up in ImageMagick.

This was point and shoot at a bright spot under an LED street light sky. No particular target and to my surprise it was centred on the nebula with some interesting clusters here and there.

Decided to take some bias and flats at iso100 and used dark frames from another recent project.

EDIT: I didn't get around to identifying the nebula's name - it's the Prawn... thanks Colin...

Thank's Rick Colin and Alex. Well, here's another. I dare not start another thread, surely. This time the Southern Pleiades looking toward Eta Carina.

The SC seems suspended - remote...

EDIT: 13 frames 5 mins iso200 - slow acquisition.

Great image. I like that comment too. Stars like grains of sand... And that's just a small section of our galaxy. Forget about every other galaxy!

Thanks... The low ISO and longer exposure time strategy worked. Taken under a blue LED sky.

Nice work.
Do a star count ☺
As to openning more threads that, subject to what mods think, probably is a good idea.
