Hello from Perth

Just realised I had never posted up an intro post.

I'm Wez from Perth and am only just getting into astronomy despite interested for decades. I work in a Visualisation facility at Curtin University in Perth and I've been involved in various bits of planetary and space visualisation but I'm keen to get results myself.

Owing to having a job (didn't lose it over Covid - well not yet) and being a bit of a sucker for bigger is better I've got myself a 16" plain dob I'm working on building up to do both planetary and DSO. It certainly is a huge learning curve much more than I was expected and I've still not got to a point I'm happy with the results from the scope but I'm slowly working towards it.

So hopefully with assistance from the gurus here and in Cloudy Nights I'll get myself some good results and then its up from there

Hello Wes,
From another beginner, I found the English forum Stargazers Lounge useful and helpful
