Plenty of detail, and nice and sharp, but a bit of an odd colour Pat.

Nice going Pat, looks like you have a real battle with light pollution there mate. You've still managed some good detail, and a very low noise image, well done! Mate if your interested there is tutorial for using photoshop to remove gradients like the one you have here. I don't use it any more because pixinsight has a better tool for achieving that, but I have had some good results in the past by using it. I'll post the link below.

Nice detail coming out, stars nice and round, as for the colour I took a similar picture last year through an ED80 using a Sony nex5 and got identical colours . Processing it lightened it up. Encouraging start , keep it up.

Nice detail Pat, I actually prefer the first pic with the gradient. Seems to give it a more 3D effect but I see what the LP is doing to the image background.
Still waiting for NGC 253 to get high enough above my eastern trees beore giving this a go myself.

Hi Pat, Mate I had a look at this tonight, unfortunately I can't do anything with the file you uploaded here. As soon as I try to do anything with it it goes all pix-elated etc. If you want me to hae a go and see what can be done I will need the original Tif file that came out of DSS. I'll send you a PM with my email address. No stress if you decide not to worry that's cool, but I am happy to have a go if you wish.
