We don't get them so often over here but last night a real doozy lit up Auckland and Northland just before midnight. Swept in from the West over the Waitakere Hills with multiple sheet and forked strikes with some huge rumbling explosive hits overhead. Then some serious wind and rain for about 30 minutes.
Yep pretty stiff breezes in the NI yesterday. I was in Auckland, Wellington and then down to Dunners yesterday. Guess where the best weather was Well, until the next front came through
