I havent got these yet, but they are on the way
7mm WO UWAN, 82 AFOV, will give me .5 degrees at 170x
10mm premium plossel, 53 AFOV - .4 degrees at 120x
25mm WO SWAN, 72 AFOV, 1.5 degrees at 48x
40mm WO SWAN, 70 AFOV, 2.3 degrees at 30x

So I think I have the lower end covered, I dont know when I will need more than 2.3 degrees but I wouldnt mind getting a higher power for planets when the seeing is really good. I have an 8 inch so I should be able to push it upwards of 300x if needed

oh heres a thought, lets throw cubic money at this hobby

Heres Ours
EYEPIECES.......................... ..........My Rating
TeleVue Panoptic 27mm...................***
TeleVue Panoptic 24mm...................*****
TeleVue Panoptic 19mm...................***** (my fav up until ethos)
TeleVue Radian 14mm.....................****
TeleVue Radian 12mm.....................***
TeleVue Ethos 10mm....................*****+
TeleVue Radian 6mm........................**
Vixen LV 4mm plossl...................1/2 *

2.5 Barlow............................. ........**
CLS Filter............................. .........*****
Polorising Filter Set.........................***
And 4 other Coloured Filters.............*

TeleVue Ethos 10mm (Still awaiting good skies to test full capability, but impressive so far)

Vixen LV 4mm plossl (The first eyepiece We bought wanting to see planets in great detail from a 5 inch telescope..........Two Words sucked in.... whilst it is a fantastic quality eyepiece, I should not of been sold this eyepiece from the start....... ........As for now it would make an expensive round for a slingshot

The CLS filter gets a really good workout, we once did a public night with SASI and the kids couldn't get over the green Saturn, yes we did explain that isn't its natural colour but some how i think they will remember it for life

The Barlow doesn't really get touched, no good reason why, but its there anyway

I'm that impressed with the ethos that I'm considering selling the radians and Panoptics and having a 3 ethos set........

We now have a 10 inch collapsible Skywatcher, but probably looking at upgrading to a 16 inch scope to take full advantage of the eyepieces
(the Mrs is going to kill me)

apart from the 10mm and 25mm plossls that came with my telescope, my collection is as follows.

31mm Nagler
24mm Panoptic
13mm Nagler
9mm Nagler
6mm Ethos

I only got the 31mm and the Ethos yesterday, so I haven't tried them out yet. the 31mm deserves it's terminagler nickname, it's huge.

I think the set is pretty much complete - maybe a 16mm or 17mm Nagler to fill the 24mm-13mm gap, but hardly essential.

I have two sets...

Grab & Go set : 1.25" Vixen LV's - 4, 6, 7, 10, 15, 25mm.

Main set: "all 2-inch" - and similar in weight - so no fussing with rebalancing across this lot.

Vixen LVW 5, 8, 13, 22
Vixen NLVW 30
TMB 40mm Paragon, and
Vixen LV50

A full 10:1 range from highest to lowest power.

The 40mm Paragon takes in the full field of the 2" barrel - if your scope can fill it - which is why I bought it - but more below.

At the low end I started with the Vixen NLVW30 as I wasn't too sure whether either of my scopes could really fill the field of a 2" barrel. The field stop is 34.1mm, and gives a really gorgeous low power field in both my scopes.

Ultimately I decided to push the limits and try the TMB and the LV50. The TMB 40 is big. Looking at the field lens, it's aperture is bigger than some refractor objectives and you can't really appreciate how big till you hold one in the flesh. And as for the LV50... not many eyepieces have an eye lens cover BIGGER than the field lens cover - this one does as the eye lens is huge.

In my f/7 refractor the TMB 40 is good to the edge, a tad sharper than the LVW30 at the edges of the field and very crisp and contrasty. However it is not entirely comfortable to look through for long periods in comparison to the Vixen LV50 - which has a slightly smaller field field stop, a field of view of 45 degrees and heaps of eye relief.

My f/15 Mak however can't really fill the field of the TMB without some vignetting towards the edge of the field because the aperture at the back of the OTA is significantly less than 50mm. The same would be true for 8" SCT's.

Consequently while the TMB is spectacular in my refractor, I find the LV50mm is a better choice for low power on the Mak.

I don't use EP's much, except for framing my camera. When I do, I use a 9mm TMB Planetary, 26mm Meade Series 4000, Celestron Nextstar 40mm and TeleVue 2x Barlow

Oh yeah! and a Meade 12mm illuminated reticle EP

40mm - E-Lux (Came with the scope and good for letting the little one look through)
32mm - TeleVue Plossl
24.5mm - Meade SuperWideAngle
18mm - Meade SuperWideAngle
15mm - TeleVue Plossl
11mm - TeleVue Plossl
8mm - TeleVue Plossl

Also have a f6.3 Reducer Corrector which makes for some nice viewing in conjunction with the Meade SuperWideAngles.

Thanks David With the 27mm Panoptic now added, I think my eyepiece collection should be fine for a good while to come.

Well, I've got (no piccies yet):

4mm Andrews plossl
15mm GSO plossl
25mm GSO plossl
40mm GSO plossl
30mm Andrews UWA 80º
32mm TeleVue plossl
GSO 2x Barlow

I'll be eventually adding more TeleVue eyepieces to my collection. Tested the 32mm on the moon tonight and it is far sharper than the GSO units. Still waiting to test on DSOs, scope's battery died on me tonight - again!

Dave

Current line up, with which I'm very happy:

Televue visual paracorr
Williams Optics UWAN 28mm 2"
Televue 17mm Nagler T4 2"
Televue 13mm Nagler T6 1 1/4"
Televue 9mm Nagler T6 1 1/4"
Televue 2x 1 1/4" Barlow

and so far I'm keeping my Vixen LVW 17mm for public viewings (am I a little over protective of my 17mm Nagler - absolutely)
