January 2021 Photo Challenge - Enter HERE

As a bit of fun each month, we run an informal Photographic Challenge, open to everyone.
There are no prizes, although if someone wishes to "Sponsor" the Challenge, I would be happy to talk to you about it.

This month's challenge, as chosen by last month's winners is "Silver"
to give a wide appeal from abstract to farm machinery to kitchen pots and pans!

Your challenge, should you chose to accept it, is to WOW the judges (the voting public) with an appropriate photo that features "Silver".
Now you can do that by the absolute beauty of your image, by something unusual or unexpected in your capture, or by wackiness that makes us laugh.

It doesn't matter if you are a professional photographer with Thousand dollar equipment on an exotic location with a planned set up, or a simple Joe (or Joanne) out for a stroll with a camera phone and a spur of the moment happy snap. Either way, WE WANT YOU to submit your entry. Please.

I know I said this was just a bit of fun, but there are some rules (we all need rules right?)
The Rules:
* This thread is only for posting your entry, together with any comments/explanation/details you'd like to add about your own photo.
[sometimes this may help sway the judges]
* However, comments on other people's entries, or any "other" shots of your own you'd like to share, are welcome But in the appropriate place, the "Comments and Other Thread" -> HERE.
* And, please only one entry (that's just one image) per person in THIS Thread, (but you can change it out at any time if you get a better one)
* Importantly, the image must be your "own work" [which means you either took the shot or were instrumental in the planning and execution of the shot] and
* all other normal forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The image doesn't necessarily have to be taken this month, but, if you can, that is the object of the challenge!

In this regard, YES, the image may be an existing one that you have previously posted, unless of course it has already been voted a previous photo challenge winner.

The winner of the public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo immortalised in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck!

Black Pearl

My wife bought me this metal 3D model kit for Christmas.
A good alternate hobby for the cloudy Sydney days (and current restrictions).

It came out better than I'd expected due to my poor modelling ability and old shaky hands!
I love the way the silver catches and reflects the light, especially on this little turntable display.

I hope it meets the criteria for this challenge.

The tumbling water and rising mist are the silver linings from tremulous downpours.

Silver lining

These rolled in from the South yesterday afternoon.

Directly over my home.

Apparently they have silver linings ?!
