iStar decals and case .

Alright ! , its been such a buisey couple of weeks , and on Friday night my new 'Astro Box' from Astronomy Alive arrived by courier in good condition .
On the case , its very well made and I can see by the build that who ever makes them puts a lot of effort into the finished product , and very good it is too .
Thanks Cris, for only charging me only the standard size price of $299 even tho mine was a special build to fit my iStar 127mm f8 , much apreaciated . .

My 127mm iStar fits perfectly in the new case thanks to Cris's constant communications during the build to make sure the scope fitted , and on that its perfect as mentioned , held firmly and snuggle by 2 Velcro straps and cradles internally , great job .

On the 'Decals' , well our own MattT asked iStar optical in Florida USA on the possibility of some decals for our ATM iStar refractors ? and you know what Mike Harding of iStar said no worries send me your addresses and I will post them out and a couple of months later mine arrived , I know Matt has his as well and the 20 or so happy iStar refractor builders world wide have theirs , thanks for instigating this Matt as these finish my 127mm off well and I know they will finish your beautiful 152mm , f12 perfectly .

As always enjoy the photos and comments most welcome .

Brian.

Not to me! Nice Istar decal...not sure about the saxon one though

I'm a bit busy doing the Gaunt mount mods to have put the decals on my scope but I'll get there one day. Wouldn't mind putting my scope in a case either, be a long case though

I like the Istar decal but think it would be better placed on the dew shield rather than cramped beside the saxon.

At least it stirred a bit of interest , I notice the APO police are very quiet on this one , ya think Matt ? .
Each to his own , I like that position , it looks OK when mounted .

What does it matter. Who's gonna see it in the dark anyway

OK, APO Police checking in.

Nice decal. Should have REMOVED the Saxon one

Case. OK, I'll be honest - needs a coat or 3 more of varnish to seal that soft pine.

Roger , Roger .
It already has one coat , I will lightly sand and apply 2-3 more and it will come up well , thanks Lewis , its a nice case .
It is a Saxon/iStar , all $620 worth my keeper , iStar make excellent achromats .

This is what matters ( see photo) , .the OTA is only there to hold the optical components apart , mine does very well at that .
