Mounting RASA 8

Hi All,

Having just purchased a RASA 8 I have found the dovetail requires a Losmandy type connection to mount it on my EQ6 Pro, my NEQ6 Pro has the Vixen style dovetail holder only.

Is there an adapter I can purchase to go from a Vixen to Losmandy dovetail holder for my NEQ6 Pro?

I had it originally mounted it like in the attached but was told there may be flex issues?

Any ideas?

Paul

There are several options for conversion. This is one:

The Vixen dovetails are really only suitable for lighter weight scopes.
Always use a wider base where possible such as the Losmandy d series dovetails and saddle.

I would second that. I have a narrow dovetail bar on my C925 and if you tap the OTA it has a springy feel to it, more so if you tap in the way that has the force go into the short side of the dovetail profile. If I use it photographically again I will be fitting a wide dovetail to it as my Orion mount has the dual size puck on it.
