Clouded Comet Lovejoy Timelapse

Up again this morning to try and capture Comet Lovejoy, joined by RB and Rodstar (great company!) but a frustrating cloud bank sat right over the top of the comet and we only got a few glimpses of the tail rising above the clouds.

The timelapse turned out great though, watch those dynamic clouds Watch in 720p HD on Youtube at:

Taken with a Canon 5D Mark II with 16-35mm lens @ f/2.8, 16mm, ISO3200, 20s exposures. Timelapse created in Vegas Movie Studio.

The cloud certainly hindered the view, however the timelapse is excellent - still managed to capture the tail. Great work.

Shame that the clouds just didn't want to part enough to give us a good view of it but nice work anyway.

Cheers Daniel.

Nice timelapse, Mike, but it's a pity about the clouds.

THanks guys, yeh the clouds were a real pain.

The worst is, it's looking to be clear tonight/tomorrow morning - and being xmas morning, there's no way I'd tell Kate i'm going out again

Well, you could tell SWMBO that you were going out again, but that wouldn't be any guarantee on you actually getting back in

Unless, of course, you made it a family event

It was great to catch up Rod and Mike, on both nights, too bad the weather didn't co-operate.
And of course tomorrow looks clear.

Timelapse looks great Mike, just wish that cloud had moved out of the way for us.

Cheers

PS you and Houghy need to grab a 5D MkII ASAP.
