This was a filler image while I was waiting for some other targets to get higher. I put a bit of effort into framing everything and hoped that Antares wasn’t going to be too close being just out of frame. I think Antares is the cause of the light streaks across the frame so I might go and move the FOV a bit further from Antares in the future.
It’s also possible that it’s a little bit of frost on the sensor as the relative humidity was pretty high at the time.

With 13x300s it isn’t a lot of data but I think I need to move the FOV further from Antares before reimaging this area.

Colin,
A very impressive Rho, wonderful colours in this region - nice blend looks good I’m sure you would be happy with this one ( there’s always a niggle in every image we take that we can improve on but this one is pretty darn good I’d say)
Well done

Thanks Anthony Antares is one of those stars you either want in field or far from FOV

When doing my framing I was trying to get as close to Antares as I could but trying to also be far enough away to not get this... I failed in that second department
You are right though, you can point it anywhere within 10º of this region and be happy

Thanks Suavi, I don’t usually give any attention to framing but I did this time

This is just a beautiful rendition of Rho Ophiuchi, Colin. Now I know why you mentioned a full frame cooled CMOS as a worthwhile consideration!

What software do you use for image capture and image processing?

Congrats- the transverse rays,by the way, do not detract from the absolute splendour of this image.

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks Richard

At the moment I am using Sequence Generator Pro for image capture but I'm planning on giving Voyager a shot once I get my current project finished next new moon.
I use PixInsight for processing and then sometimes put the near finished image into Lightroom for some tweaks.

They're not too distracting but they're what I was trying to avoid
