Nikon D80 Pixel size?

Hey All,

I have my ol' trusty Nikon D80 which I would like to use for some basic astrophotography.

I would like to punch in my Sensor information into the Bintel Astronomy Calculator & Simulator to see what results I would get with my C8, but for the life of me I cant find any information about the Sensors Pixel size. I have the pixel pitch, but this is not the same thing.

So far the information I was able to gather were:
CCD APS-C 2360mm x 1580mm
10.2 Maga Pixels 3872 x 2592
Pixel Pitch: 6.05µm
Pixel size: ???µm

Does anyone out there know what the pixel size is for a Nikon D80?

Cheers
Wayne

Wayne,

Th number of pixels and the width (in mm) is the key.
3872 pixels measure 2360mm, hence each pixel is 6.05 micron.
(Obviously the same as the pixel pitch )
