Hasn't been many planetary images posted lately so I thought I'd put some up for the sake of it. Taken last Tuesday evening with a prime time Red Spot Transit. Seeing was about 5 /10 but managed to get some reasonable frames in each video capture.
Usual gear , 150mm f8 Saxon newt, HEQ5, ASI290mc, 2.5 Powermate. Best ! 500 of 3000 frames, Registax.
Thanks for the comments guys, I've deliberately kept the colour subdued to more match the eyepiece appearance rather than highlighting the cloud bands.
Nice series Jeff. There's some really good detail showing in the second one and I like the position of the GRS. Also you might have enough there for a short animation if it interests you?
Thanks again for the comments, I should re-process the videos to try and find some sharper frames and tweak the colours a bit more and then think about a GIF. Have done GIFs of Jupiter before and they are interesting to watch, giving that sense of time scale to its' rotation.
