Updated Cone

Had the chance to get some [OIII] and [SII] form some very dark skies to finish off about 12 hours on NGC 2264. Lots of experimenting with various shades of colour based on an SHO combination and arrived at this as possibly a last iteration. Details and close up image here: https://www.astrobin.com/full/f5v66z/E/

Scope: Skywatcher 8” f4 Newt
Mount: Skywatcher EQ6-R
Camera: ZWO ASI1600MM-Pro (gain 200, -10°)
Ha 5nm 83x180s, [OIII] 3nm 83x180s, [SII] 3nm 80x180s
Captured with SGP and processed in PixInsight

Many thanks Andy. I’m not sure I’m really on top of the Newt but without a permanent setup I figure there has to be a lot of going with the flow!

That's a ripper Ben. A very compelling and interesting image. Excellent framing and detail.

Greg.

Cheers Greg. The framing was more arrived at than preplanned so some small cool bits sadly got the chop. Probably better to focus on the main show anyway, given I didn’t have that really nice wide field I love in other images of the region.

Thanks Mike. I tried not to go too far away from the SHO combo although the green was lessened quite a bit.
