NGC 330 in the SMC

Looking for something to photograph I came across NGC 330 which appears in M&T's fine recent image of the area. Although I've taken numerous shots of its near neighbour, NGC 346, I've never imaged this one directly before. I took some deep Ha to highlight the extensive nebulosity in the region.

Cheers

Steve

Awesome image! There's another little cluster to the far left too.

Thanks Kevin. Yes that's NGC 416 (at least I hope so)

Thanks Mike. Actually you’re pretty good at NGC 253.

Wow! That is soooo different with wideband data showing the clusters that power the emission nebulosity. Excellent!

Thanks M&T. Personally I think the SMC looks most spectacular with muted stars so I think the best view is with a blend of wide and narrow band data.

Thanks Rick. Seeing that the SMC is going to be round for a while perhaps I'll do a mosaic of the area.

Thanks Ross. Probably the main reason it's not well known is that it's pretty tiny.
