Toucam modding question?

I have an unmodded SPC900 Toucam sitting here which I haven't used for a while. Is it worthwhile having it modded for lunar/planetary work on a GSO dob?

I assume you are talking long exposure modified...If that's the case, then the answer is no.

Sorry, John, yes I am. I'll leave it umodded.

This is an inexpensive camera on a 6" GSO Dob for a 10yo to experiment on. I didn't want to spend much more$$ on beefing up the camera.

Cheers.

For lunar and planetary work, you don't need to mod the camera. It'll do perfectly fine as it is. However, if you wanted to do some pics of DSO's, you'd need to modify it. About the only mod you'll need to do on it is grab a Mogg adaptor and fit that to the camera.

GSO IR / UV Cut Filter, $19.00

More of a dust protector... but sounds fit for purpose here
