DSLR to 8" meade SCT

Hey Guys,
First time poster but have been reading the forums for a while
i am sorry if this information is already on another thread

i have recently brought a new meade 8" SCT and i loving it.
now today i got a canon 450 DSLR and i am just trying to figure out, what do i need to get to well... put them together.

now i know i need a t-ring to fit anything to the camera so i am ok there

but what about to set it up for prime focusing i think is the term?


and what will i need to be able to hook filters and 2" 5x teleview to it for planetary and lunar pictures?

any help or suggestions would be awesome

You need a low-profile T-ring to SCT mount (ScopeStuff, TALP is the product code I think). The low profile ring screws onto the thread at the cassegrain focus of the SCT, and couples the Tring on the camera to the SCT. It is thin enough to let the camera get all the way to the zenith without banging on the mount (ugh). My Pentax K200D will just fit when using a Focal Reducer (f/3.3) on my LX90 8".

If using Barlow / Teleview then you would put them in the light path after the diagonal. Be aware that the system will have flexure because of the length of the tube and lack of support; and keeping track of your object may be a challenge :-)
