Quite a pretty little cluster of stars surround this galaxy, which is a bit off the beaten track.

Seeing has been terrible here lately, and I'm struggling to get my Mach 1 to behave which isn't helping matters, so this is about the best I can do at the moment. Not up to my usual standards in terms of sharpness, but surprisingly it does compare reasonably well to The Carnegie-Irvine Galaxy Survey (CGS) version which I believe was taken with the the 2.5m du Pont scope in Chile.

This is just over 12.5hrs of data, using 120s exposures (due to the misbehaving mount).

Nice one!

Have to say I am really digging all the obscure southern galaxy images put up of late.

Quite a beauty, despite the technical challenges. Well done!
