replacement polar scope cover

I recently acquired a second hand EQ6 Pro, but its polar scope cover is missing. Not the bulbous screw in bit at the end, but the flimsy plasticky thing on the front.
I tried using the lid of an old film canister, but its too small. Has anyone tried to fashion something as a replacement cover?

Motor car parts dealers used to carry a range of grommets/plugs to fit the various holes in the body work.

You might even find something at Bunnings!

Look long enough through discarded plastic packaging and you will find something that fits well. Often a bit of cutting will help(I am lucky to have the right gear) or making a shim from paper or rubber to make the nearly fit in to a fit.Always satisfying to find some otherwise discarded piece of junk being able to fix something without paying a cent.

Hardware shop, as others said.. They should sell plugs for couch/chair legs in a range of sizes.

One of the common sizes is 1.25" - Makes a great EP endcap.
