Mirror recoat

Hello, fellow mirror coating seekers.

I sent my 250mm primary to Saintech in NSW.
I got the distinct feeling he is very keen to service the Aussie astro scene.
Prices are affordable. Probably due to giving up smoking recently.

I have not uncovered anything untoward about this company.

So, all is looking good and postal service permitting my scope could well be operational once again very soon.

I will give an update as soon as mirror is returned.
Clear skies
Frank

. Hello everybody. I'm new on ths webs. I've ever read the spectrum between silver & aluminium coatings side by side. On the graph %reflection vs light spectrum. Unfortunately I forget where the web's name (it's likely I saw an erecting diagonal tht its mirror is specially coated wth silver. It's more expensive. Try to google, "diagonal mirror with silver coating). There I saw silver is more reflecting on blue-UV region & lesser wth the rest spectrums (even lower than the alu). While alu is reflecting evenly from red-blue.

Hi Barry. How's your mirror now? Did Saintech give protector coating (TiO2)?

"You spent over $12000 on the telescope and have another $2500 in the trailer. Big deal. Money is made to be spent! Life was made to be lived". Dave Kriege, The Dobsonian" Unfortunately it happens to me. I've to buy a used Toyota HiAce van to transport my 20" F5. Bought it $ 3900, got ripped off by a mechanic workshop $ 525 & $ 480 by another mechanic I asked to fix a mild oil leaking but he didn't fix it. He jst fooling me around. Finally I've to go to another mechanic to fix it & pay $ 390. So sad. I have to work hard to get money & those people jst ripping off people.
