Canon 5DH and Canon 300mm F2.8 at f/5. It really needs more longer exposures.

Managed to get more data. Canon 300mm f2.8 at f/5. Hutech LPR filter. Fridge at -10C.

Older image all at 400 ISO.
20x2m,20x4m and 6x8m.
New image
20x2m, 20x4m, 21x8m and 4x16m. Cloud still a problem.

Processed at native camera resolution. An improvement but still needs more data.

Full resolution image 12MB

Thanks for the comments folks. All this modern technology is a far cry from the hypered film I and many others used in the seventies. I do this for fun and to keep my mind occupied.

It is interesting to contemplate that the gas and dust you see in this image is what our solar system came from 4.5 billion years ago. Are we imaging the stuff of future life?

Sorry for the large size anything smaller would have not done it justice. I am working on a larger enhanced version.

Gradients are the main curse for widefields.

Leon I have found that the only thing that works is to keep at it and often. Eventually you get better. Unfortunately there is no final recipe. Or is that fortunate that we all have to keep trying and refining our methods.

I and many others are really frustrated by the current weather. I do not mind clouds if they give us some rain.

A very nice image Bert. Good to see how it fits in with the surrounds.
