I found it interesting, but lots of conjecture and Hype.
Most annoying was the very loud music over riding the commentary.
Just too much Jee Whizz for me,but worth a watch even so.
Cheers

Too much whizz bang for me. Not enough, if anything new. As for the conjecture - oh dear! Give me Brian Cox any day.

Could hardly watch the first episode. Stupid repetitive "shock and awe" script. Boring as bat poo.....

To much conjecture not enough actual fact. It annoys me because the imagery is so strong that young people, or those without a critical mind, store it, and recall it as there impression of 'how it actually works'.
The use of animated graphics needs to be done carefully just because it has such a strong mnemonic action.
At no point that I recall was it firmly pointed out that this was artists fantasies of the processes. Or pointed out at all.
It was too stupid to watch so I picked up a book instead.

yep, done in the 'American documentary style' - repetition galore. Galore.

won't bother with the next ones - but good on sbs for giving astronomy a go.

galore.

galore, galore.

This.

I gave it two shots at about 5 minutes before the commentary made me change the channel.
Lots of scaremongering about solar flares, and little actual science. Pity. Could have been a good show.

I saw the first episode, rather disappointing I thought. The worse was that in presenting some of the current lab-based experiments, there was very poor (to nil) scientific explanation into the fundamentals of how/why of the experimental theory and set up. It was as if the writers themselves didn't know the right questions to ask, and/or just didn't understand the experiments at all. Mega-frustrating to watch...! Doesn't come anywhere close to some the phenomenal BBC Horizon specials over the last 3 decades. Just my opinion...Fox
