July Photo Challenge - Entries (Please Post them here)

The Topic this month, thanks to Raymo, is "odd, quirky, weird, etc:"

Note:
* This thread is only for posting your entry, together with any comments/explanation/details you'd like to issue concerning your own photo.
[sometimes this may help sway the judges]
* However, comments on other people's entries, or any "other" shots of your own you'd like to share, should be posted to the Comments and Rejects Thread -> HERE.
* And, it's only one entry (that's just one image) per person (but you can change it out at any time if you get a better one)
* Importantly, the image must be your "own work" and
* all other normal forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The image doesn't necessarily have to be taken this month, but now that travel restrictions have been eased, we encourage you to get out and engage with the challenge.

In this regard, YES, the image may be one that you have previously posted, unless of course it has already been voted a previous photo challenge winner.

The winner of the public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo immortalised in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck!

Venice Channel

Quirky comes to mind when I took this pic of a "house" cruising down the Venice channel some while back.

Fruit grown in moulds. I think the practice originated in Vietnam.

Barrow Creek Hotel

Barrow Creek is a small community (not even a town) in the Northern Territory between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek at a heyday boasting a population of 40 (currently 11 -as per Wikipedia).

The Pub is weird and whacky and certainly different. The walls are covered in signed banknotes from travelers' countries of origin another is full of cards and messages. and another is just scribbled messages, as well as other oddities. See the comments thread for other shots.

My wife says this one fits the theme best although I like the wall with the camel pulling the van.

The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, near Bendigo. A marvelous place with very interesting gardens.

Who you looking at?

I almost did not post due to the outstanding weirdness already here but here goes. Anthropomorphic trees are always a little alien.
