SynScan V3.38.09 single star alignment

From the website:
Notes: RELEASED 2016/07/08
1. Add a Daytime Alignment function, which includes selecting the sun as the alignment star for daytime one-star alignment and solar tracking.
2. Update the firmware to implement new SynScan(tm) Serial Communication Protocol v3.3.
3. Fixed minor issues and bugs known in the previous firmware.

Has anyone tried this yet?

Good. I'd say they've done it for the eclipse next year. I saw a review by a solar observer using a Skywatcher All View mount who specifically pointed out that Skywatcher seemed to have gone out of their way to defeat daytime one-star alignment using the Sun, and that the Sun was removed from the list of objects for GOTO slewing.

I can understand why they might have done that for safety reasons but it is a PITA if you actually did want to slew and track the sun.

Now I know what mount I'm buying
