Dark Frames on a Point&Shoot

Hi All

I have a Sony RX100MK4 and it takes a mean nightscape shot but I need to add dark frames to get that last 1%.

Can anyone advise how to take dark frames on a point and shoot?

Is it as easy as covering the lens with something solid and black or is there a neat little trick that works a treat?

Regards
Chris

PS: sorry if its been covered, search was being really unhelpful.

As long as you keep the same iso and shutter speed (exposure length) for the dark frames as your light frames, "it's as easy as covering the lens with something solid and black". I put the end cap on my scope or Dslr lens to take darks.
