single frame widefield of Orion

Orion rising. This was a focus and framing test sub. 600D 50mm f/1.8 single
sub of 10 secs @ ISO 3200 on Nano Tracker. This might illustrate for Martin's
son how easy it is to make a start in widefield AP.

Nice one Raymo, I do believe that some folk think it is just to hard to get a deep sky image, and this probably stems from viewing some of the fantastic images here that have hours of data.

What you did showed how simple it is to get a nice wide field result.

nice to see m42 in it's wider context - and with the "nifty fifty" keeping it simple, fast and reasonably affordable :-)

i confess I hadn't thought of trying wide-field from my heavily light polluted backyard, but when it's just a camera an tracker I guess you can be free to go anywhere without much fuss?

Thanks Leon and Robert. I only snapped it yesterday, but I find already that
I like it, because apart from too many stars, it looks like I just stepped out of my back door and looked up, this thought being reinforced by the bit of greenery.
