Bunnings Weather Stations on Sale

I ran across a stack of weather station boxes at Bunnings this morning. They were Holman brand I think and price was around $90. It included an annenometre (wind cup spinner), wind direction, rain gauge, on a stalk that could mount on an observatory, and it seemed to be wireless to the indoor display station. That Holman station seems to normally list for $249 at Bunnings catalog, so good bargain if your interested.

The expensive (>$200) units have solar charging for the "on board" batteries, etc., plus other bells and whistles.

The unit Glen has referenced is Holman's basic unit which requires you to replace the AA batteries every now and then, they work quite well, I'm just ready to replace the similar unit which was close to 7 years old and only suffered from UV degradation of the plastic.

I am thinking, that since it would be mounted on my observatory, wiring a DC plug pack to it would be pretty easy.

I've had that brand twice before - rubbish, never again.

If you want quality and can afford it: https://www.instrumentchoice.com.au/...diation-shield

I have this one plus the Weatherlink. I can see every detail via the internet and I can do customised charts. I can also check out other stations around me. See image below.

Bunnings don't generally have advertised specials per se.
Each store is responsible for marking down its own stock if it is slow moving or discontinued etc.. So these sort of "specials" are normally specific to each store. (and does not reflect the "on line" listed price). [as far as I am aware]

I have mine atop an old flag pole.
It's the old Holman you mentioned, but it works fine for me.
Sends the signal to monitor in house OK (though brick)
Need to get the ladder out every 12 to 18 months to change the battery.
Its my second in about 10 years. I'm happy enough with it.
But Solar powered would be nice.
