Nyngan transit of venus - Hydrogen Alpha timelapse

ok i have had a hack at the data - and towards the later part of the transit i suffered from droopy scope, wind, clouds and user errors but i made the most it i could. the BF1200 is stuffed and that is the root cause of all the evil dust bunnies.......it will be replaced in a few weeks

Dave, you might be disappointed but I think it looks fantastic and you have captured a piece of history. Well done.

Nice work Dave – I hope that the 159 GB Mountain is slowly but surely being ascended and that the summit is nigh…

Cheers

i could have processed the images better but i lack the skill set just now - maybe over the next 100 years i can learn ..

Mike it was an experience that i wouldnt have missed. I learnt lessons for the solar total eclipse and also that even with basic gear, impossible odds and a fair amount of luck its possible to image. Also I still cant turn a average image into something desireable

I wondered if anyone would do a timelapse... and yours is a definitive answer.

Some technical quibbles, but hey, you stayed on target for 6 or hours...not an easy task! Nice to watch

thanks for looking Peter. yes there are more than the odd quibble, but then thats what makes it unique (I keep telling myself that). I have to say that without Mike being there pushing the buttons it would have been even more a daunting task. Nature calls

Stuff venus - I've had a great time watching the sun slowly turn, replaying this one over and over. Any imperfections lost in the magnificence of it. Thanks David.

Fantastic stuff, in the HD version I can clearly see some solar features in motion, some surprisingly quick too.
