Luna at 99.39%

Picked up an upgrade to my 6" Evo in the form of the 8" SCT OTA. First light was yesterday, so I went for the most obvious object in the night sky

[Full-res here]

Image details: Celestron Evolution 8" SCT @ f10, Nikon D7100 (1/160 sec, ISO 800), 96% ND Lunar viewing filter, single RAW image processed in Adobe Lightroom.

Very nice. How did you get the entire moon within a single frame? With APS-C sensor it would have been cropped?

cheers,

Thanks. When I hooked up the SCT as a prime lens to my D7100, the whole of the moon fit in the frame - I was just as surprised as you are.
