Problems with DBK 21

Hi Everyone,
I need help to get colour images from my DBK21, I've been online and tried the tutorials but without any luck. I get a colour image but the colours are not right. Can anyone with a DBK recomend settings to use.

Thanks in advance

George

I've had similar problems with my DBK21. Trying to image Saturn and the colours are heavily magenta type colours? I did fix this once before, accidentally somehow, don't recall how. Tried imaging Saturn again a few weeks ago and the problem returned.

I'll be interested to see what the solution was.

What image capture software are you using? I was using K3CCDTools.

Hi Troy,
Thanks for your input, I'm using IC Capture. Everytime i try to use K3ccdtools the program crashes and fails to capture.

I haven't used one of these camera's but it sounds like the debayering or colour weighting settings are not correct. Check if you capture program allows you to set these and experiment until you get the correct colours.

Hi Guys

Its been a while since I used my DBK21. From memory, I use the format UYVY to capture colour as displayed on the Notebook display and then Registax can open and process these AVI’s without the need to change any settings such as Bebayering, etc.

Cheers

Dennis

My memory is rusty on this subject too now but I think Dennis is correct. I'll go one step further & say something that IS remembered; Once you have adjusted the colour of the object to suit, you can flick back to Y800 capturing what looks like to the eye, mono AVI's. After that, load into Registax & allow Registax to do the debayering for you.

Just been out with the DBK and tried a IR blocking filter made no difference. But i did try using the the camera with K3ccdtools and got a prefect colour image. Must be a problem with the settings on IC Capture will use K3ccdtools instead much easier to use. If there are any DBK users out here could they please let me know what settings they use.
Thanks for all the advice and comments
