Pixinsight tool for optimum exposures?

Hi, I just discovered a very interesting tool in PI, under scripts/instrumentation, being 'CalculateSkyLimitedExposure'.

Screenshot attached.

Anyone use this? Is it remotely accurate/useful? At home I visually find that 5 minute subs are the limit (with a LP filter on), but this tool is suggesting only 1 min 34 second subs @ ISO 400. I applied the tool to an un-stretched RAW image.

Might try its suggestion next time.

It suggests 15 minutes for Heathcote. For my SLR! Not sure if that'd be correct.

Thanks in advance

Hey Simon,

it seems it lacks a lot of camera details. I couldn't list a 7D and wasn't sure of where I could get the required info.

Any suggestions.
