Wrinkly black paint

I have not noticed it around for a while.
Does any one know what it was called?
And how its done.
You would see it on microscopes and medical gear.
Black paint all wrinkled up.

Plastidip has a black rubber spray paint that would maybe be what your looking for. Check out Supercheap or Autobarn. I have used it on roof racks, nice finish and absorbs knocks.

From memory you spray a base coat, let that dry for a short while then spray another coat. The first coat reacts with the second coat causing the top coat to wrinkle.

Thanks everyone.
I think it would look nice on some astro stuff.
On counter weights at least.

I was going there but I was last to the post, It is Hammer/wrinkle, what ever you want to call it.

I have used it often and love the effect, , not cheap though

I've never seen wrinkle paint in grey

I wonder how these 2 paint types were invented. Possibly both were mistakes.

you can get either type in any colour you want but non standard colours will require a trip to a paint specalist shop (ie not Bunnings or a home paint place)
