Clouds of Neptune

Clouds of Neptune!
A night of superb seeing, and multiple bright clouds resolved on Neptune. PVOL put out a call for observations, and Sydney provided 9/9 Skippy seeing all too soon after I acquired my new rig . There's a call out to observe the bright clouds, particularly those near the equator, happy to try and oblige. You can even map the blobs if you trust the imaging

Incidentally, you can see nicely that Triton is a captured icy body around Neptune - nice bit of retrograde action .

Celestron C14, ASI290MM, 642nm IR filter.

wow! How lucky to be able to capture the event but also provide some scientific data from your images at the same time. Well done.

Thanks everyone! Looks like this coming week will be more Sydney lightning than Neptunian storms, but I managed another snapshot last night before clouds and dew rolled in. Seems I have a lot to learn about SCT corrector plates and dew
