First NB attempt with M16

First attempt at SHO using ZWO Ha, Oiii and Siii filters. The Siii subs and half the Oiii ones, the lens was covered in thick dew which I didn’t notice till next morning. I think that’s causing the red blotches apparent in all dark areas. May need a dew heater.

Around 1.5 hrs each channel.

As always all suggestions welcome!

Nice attempt! Was this one done with the 294MC Pro in your signature, or a mono body? If you used the colour body, how much Sii signal were you getting? I've been contemplating getting an Sii filter to complement my dual-band Ha/Oiii filter for OSC imaging, as I've had fun making bi-colour psuedo-SHO images with it but it would be nice to have some actual Sii data.

I was using an ASI1600MM Pro with the ZWO filters. For this image the Ha was the strongest and the Sii was hardly anything actually but it was also heavily dewed over so I'm not sure if that caused it. I'll try again but no clear skies here in Perth for at least a week!

The focus also seem slightly different for each filter, or maybe it was temperature change over the 3-4 hrs. Will have to experiment more.

That's very good. Dithering will help with the noise pattern.

Your getting good at this Neuro!

Have a study of what others have done using the same filters.
