Sunday arvo Sun

Some nice small proms on the Sun yesterday. Images taken 1-3pm in poor-fair seeing. Tried the new Powermate 2.5x out and discovered severe ghosting. So not a good combo for the day. Anyways now have the Televue T-adapter on its way from Bintel so I can mount the Powermate to the ZWO 174MM directly and solve the spacing/ghosting issue.
Thanks for looking.
Peter

Nice prom images Peter. Are they single or double stacked images? What scope are you using with the Powermate and ZWO 174?
Thanks for posting

Thanks Gerard,

These are with the Lunt 60mm in single stack mode. Captured in Sharp Cap and processed in Autostakkert3. As noted, this was the first time I had used the Powermate and the ghosting was horrible, I had to capture the images off center and I started to worry I had sold my ES 2X too soon. So just waiting now for the Televue adapter that should replace the eyepiece barrel on the PM and solve the ghosting.

Yes, I'm unsure how this is happening as I don't seem to have any issues with my 2.5x Powermate and a Solarmax II scope with the ZWO174MM. Lets hope your new Teleview adapter will fix things up for you.
Good luck!
