Sorry for the title but couldn't help myself Here's my attempt at a serious star trail, first photo with my new Nikon 16-35 lens. Not entirely happy with the post processing and the damn laser I was using to show things to my friends got in the way

158x30sec, ISO3200 @ 16mm F/4, Dark subtracted (In hindsight should have used a lower ISO)

Lovely - and you can conceal the laser easily enough with the tree from clear image.

Either that or you make up a story of why the laser is spiritually significant to the photo. "The tale of the serpent and the spinning stars..."

Haha Jonathan! Yes I probably could overlayed a good foreground from another image but I was very lazy quite like spiritual story. It makes the whole thing sound more mystical
