last M42 for the season

Time to say farewell to M42 for a while.
21 subs with ED80 on EQ6 mount. Shot with modified Canon 40D with no guiding (as you can see!)
7x60 sec at 1600
7x60 at 3200
7x90 at 1600
Equal darks. DSS and Photoshop.
Tried various layering etc to get the balance between the details of the neb and the core exposure right.
Comments welcome.

The colours are so different with a modded camera - well worth the effort (or using a CCD). Despite the lack of guiding, it still looks pleasant. I've not yet used the blending technique - something I need to work on.

Thanks, I used a bit of artistic license in PS, but agree modded DSLR is very sensitive.
Should also add I used a Astronomik CLS clip in filter as I found it helps with LP and add a bit more blue to counter the red.
