We had a blackout in our local area last night, so for kicks I slept outside for a while and I too saw something last night. Not a bird or plane , very bright whitish light, almost as bright as the brightest star travelling very fast (too fast for typical plane & no nav. lights), travelling in an approx. north-westerly direction which passed almost directly overhead at some time around midnight, perhaps much later not sure.

Next time I'll bring camera out.

Does anyone have a 24hour Melbourne Sky Cam?

Quadrantid???
