No, that's only AFTER you fall off the step ladder head first on the driveway.

Damn it, black limos coming around the corner AGAIN...

Excalibur is mobile !!!

Added a few little items today, the detachable wheels and handles are now fitted. The handles and wheels have HDPE spigots that insert into the hollow side rails of the rocker box.

An over-centre stainless steel latch secures the mirror box to the rocker box for transport. A second 'hook' part will be added later to hold the scope at 45º during collimation.

A clamp for the carbon fibre shaft of the DSC stalk is now also fitted. The Camvate 30mm clamp is just perfect for the job. It is through bolted to the Rocker box upright. The bottom of the stalk rests in a recessed Delrin block.

This brings the build thread to a close, thanks for the thoughts, comments and views,

Cheers,
Matt

Going to encase it in stone and then give it to anyone that can remove it?

The stone is Matt's firm grip on it. I think if you pull anything out of this it'll be the last thing you do

For extra bling points, you could have just bought a Tompion, eg

Specifically designed to keep a cannon barrel clean :-)

That's coming along nicely. I reckon you should go all out and put mag wheels in it.

Thanks guys, just need to add the Nexus and Encoders now.....

A bit of paint on the shield today to finish off the beast....

A tompion indeed Andrew..... I wonder if I can make one

Alloy wheels were considered mark but my lathe curled up and died at the very thought of it......

The shield, resplendent in 'Meteor Grey"
Carbon handle
and a couple of s/s latches to keep prying eyes at bay....
