Hi Marc,

Thanks for the post!

So disappointing to read given it was one issue the world really got
behind to fix.

Hopefully the factories the Chinese government have already closed down
were the culprits.

But it is a real concern where they state if it had been used in the production
of foams, what is detected now might only be a tiny fraction and that
there may well be a lot more released over the coming decades as the foam vents.

So they really need to find out.

They must have released a helluva lot of it already to be detected around
the planet.

So incredibly selfish.

Just wish someone would:

1. shut down the factories cranking out all the junk in $2 shops. None of it - none - serves any useful purpose.

2. apply massive fines for companies who over-package - using insane amounts of plastic for something trivial/utterly unnecessary - particularly where there are perfectly good non-plastic solutions.

Starting with kids toys, plastic straws, plastic water bottles, and Gillette razor blades.

I think this is the biggest problem with fighting emissions globally. For the most part there are countries that get together and set realistic goals for reductions and will band together to make it happen. Not all countries are on board but they aren’t all the highest polluters...... apart from 2...... sadly those two combined share a third of the world’s population and quite frankly..... they don’t give a .......

Let’s not forget though, we can afford to have what we have because we get them to make it. They are as big a producer of pollution because of the money we give them to be.

The fish stinks from the head down.

Living in Tasmania you would begin to worry again if the ozone thinning is getting closer.

All those foam trays that come from the supermarket with a few grams of mushrooms in them and go straight in the bin are annoying. No one wants to pay a few more cents or take a few more seconds for picking up food and putting it in a paper bag.

Just boycott packaging.

Even Apple manages to send things in cardboard.
