Mardo!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to spot a Mardo while I had my camera!

These little critters are a native marsupial mouse, quite jumpy little things. This guy did a nice arc around our parked vechile.

We had parked and set ourselves up in the back of the 4x4 ute with camera gear, scanning the surounds for a Numbat that's known to reside in the area. We didn't get to see the numbat, but we were surprised by this guy!

The photo's aren't perfect, but they make a fun sequence. The last one is quite nice and sharp. The middle 2 he was running across the road at break neck speed. Seems he "hops" as much as he runs, as both photographs show he's off the ground!

Enjoy

Roger.

Good one Roger, now I have to say I can't recall ever hearing of such a creature, nice capture though.

Thanks Roger – a terrific photo sequence. My wife and I enjoyed seeing the antics of this cute little guy/gal.

Cheers
