Home made 18” 2nd attempt

Hi guys

I just wanted to share a photo of my build. This is the second time I have built a scope around my 18” mirror. I wanted to thank those who said I needed to start again as my first scope didn’t balance properly, this time around everything balances perfectly and is super smooth to move around. I have attached a photo.I do need to say a big thanks to Peter Tead from SDM telescopes for all his help over the phone and in person, without his knowledge this scope would not be how it is today

Thanks guys.

Well done Daniel, that looks the business. Pete Read was a great help to me also for my previous build of the 18F5.6.

Yeah , I found Peter to be such a gentleman, I just called him out of the blue and he answered all my questions without any worry. I also saw a few dobs he is working on at the moment, everything he does is top quality and the finishes are amazing, anyone who can’t build their own I would definitely recommend Peter in a heartbeat. His work is just amazing.

That's a nice piece of equipment Daniel that's just asking for starlight. Congratulations on the build.
