I went out last night to image the Eagle Nebula having had failed imaging attempts since the lunar eclipse last year. It sure was super windy but I thought what the heck, lets just have a crack at it.
Firstly, I imaged as usual with my Canon60D on my SW ED80. The inegration time was 60 minutes (15 x 4 minutes). Trying to focus is a little troublesome with this cam and I only have the single speed focuser. This is the colour image which I think is a little out of focus.
I then thought I'd throw my ASI178MM (non-cooled) for laughs; I left it on for 24 minutes (8 x 3 minutes) before driving home to bed. I am super impressed with the outcome for such a short set. I can only imagine the quality of images that could be gained with a cooled QHY163 or ASI1600.
