New Objects to Image

Are you looking for a different object to image, something that has not been imaged by IIS members before? e.g. NGC 986
Do you want to image something that was seen or discovered by an Australian astronomer?
Attached is a list of 170 objects that were discovered or seen by James Dunlop from NSW in 1826.
You can upload the file using MS Excel or similar.
There is more on Dunlop at http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=68087
Attached Files
File Type: txt Dunlop this month.txt (7.5 KB, 30 views)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I cannot find images by IIS members of these Dunlop objects.
IC 1633, NGCs 986, 1350, 1433, 1487, 1493, 1515, 1527, 1543, 1559, 1617
The above list only includes Dunlop objects that transit at 10pm (11pm DST) in November or December.
There are some interesting galaxies in this list. http://picasaweb.google.com/dunlop1826/Dunlop28#

Hi Glen,

gosh, you made quite an effort to us going. Thanks for the hint to a place where (almost) "no man has gone before".
Attached a shot of 47 Tucana (am I really the first on that, I doubt it).

Canīt wait for the weekend!

Cheers

Rolf the SN makes it even better and it is the first image of 1559 on IIS!

Thanks for the list Glen. It will be nice to have a fallback when I'm scratching my head about what to image between sucker holes.

Thanks Paul and Narayan.
Most of the best and brightest DSO in the sky were catalogued by Messier or Dunlop.
The Messier objects have been imaged many times. Many Dunlop objects have not been imaged.

Ngc 2547

NGC 2547 = Dunlop 410 is an OC and a reflection nebula in Vela.

There are no images of this OC on IIS.
