QHY5L ii M Low frame rate

I was trying the QHY5 in the SHG set-up - hoping the pixel size would help with a vertical interference pattern I seemed to be getting with the ASI 174.
Using Firecapture (I usually get around 60fps with the ASI 174) but the QHY seemed "stuck" at 4 fps. Changing the target frame rate, buffer etc etc didn't make any difference.
Changed to SharpCap but got the same results, still 4 fps.
Any ideas from other users???

Hi,

Seems very strange as I am sure the camera can go faster than this. Have you loaded the latest drivers, tried different USB cables?

Sorry, probably not much help, but if your asi 174 can go higher on same cable and port then it may be the drivers.

Cheers
Paul

Paul,
Yes tried different USB2 cables and different computers.
The spec says it can give 30fps.....

I downloaded the drivers again and on the Dell got to 7fps!!???
(The ASI 174 is a USB3 camera)

OK, found a solution!!!

Two things for the QHY 5Lii M. This is for FireCapture, but I assume the other programs need similar settings.

1. The USB traffic MUST be set at low as possible.
2. The "Highspeed" option MUST be ticked.

I can now get frame rates up to 30 fps!
Hope this helps others.
