M42 again again

I know that the center is blown out but can't seem to get it ok with out loosing most of the nebula

I'm not sure what tool you are using for processing, but you might like to try some HDR techniques to deal with the blown out bits. Take some short exposures to combine with this data using HDR.

What you have is the makings of a really good image.
It's all there waiting for you.

I remember the first time around, the core looked the same as yours.
With the right processing, you will be amazed as the Trapezium is revealed.
It is there, just hidden at the moment.

As Alex says, do some research on processing M42
